Thanks to the Unite States Congress and the Department of Housing & Urban Development(HUD), they offer an incredible numbers of discount homes all across the country.   You will not believe what deals you would discover in your backyard.

            The HUD established by Congress in 1965, its purpose focuses on providing equal opportunity to eligible home buyers without regard to race, age, sex, national origin, religion, physical handicap or martial status.

           One of HUD's responsibilities is to oversee the Federal Housing Administration (FHA). The FHA does not loan money directly to home buyers, but the Mortgage companies, Banks, and Saving & Loans do.

            If a buyer stops making mortgage payment on a FHA insured real property which included single-family house, townhouse and condominium, a lender may be forced to foreclose it.  At that point, the lender can file a claim with the FHA to have the HUD pay the balance due on the home loan.  HUD then assumes ownership of the property.  These distressed properties are called HUD homes.

           HUD then puts these properties back out on the market to try to recoup the money which it has in these properties.    The less HUD has in a property, the better deal you would probably get.   This is why a HUD home can be such an unbelievable bargain.

            Why can a VA property interest you?  

            The Veterans Administration try to give a extra advantage to those U.S citizens who have committed to preserve and protect America by serving in branches of the military and select government services.    The Veterans Administration guarantees veteran loans in order to help veterans own a home with no money down.    When a veteran defaults on a VA loan, the Veterans Administration must make good on it's guarantee.  These homes are then repossessed back to market to be resold to the general public.

            VA repossessions include single-family home, townhouse, condominiums, units even mobile homes.  You can get an even better deal than the veteran who already got.  You don't need to be a veteran to purchase a VA repossession or to assume a VA loan.   That's why a VA property can be so attractive.
